Educating Tennessee: Tennessee Board of Regents Institutions and
Providing Access to Higher Education

Published in 2006 as a collaborative effort by the six universities, 13 community colleges, and 26 technology centers that comprise the Tennessee Board of Regents, Educating Tennessee provides a rich and inspiring overview of the variety of people in a wide range of life stages and situations who have benefited from attendance at a TBR institution.

The Tennessee Board of Regents system has as its mission raising the education and skill levels of Tennesseans. To accomplish that, we must serve all kinds of people with all kinds of needs, providing them the opportunities and assistance that fit their particular situation. Fundamentally, success in raising Tennessee’s education and skill levels is all about persuading more people to take advantage of the opportunities available to improve their lives through higher learning. We hope this publication will assist us in fulfilling this mission.
