Student Regent, 2009–2010
Sean Ochsenbein was appointed Student Regent on the Tennessee Board of Regents on July 1, 2009, by Governor Phil Bredesen. Ochsenbein is a pre-medicine student majoring in biology at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville and plans to attend medical school in Tennessee upon completion of his undergraduate work.
Ochsenbein is a Cookeville resident and is the 2009-2010 TTU Student Government Association president and the Rotaract President-Elect. He served as a freshman and sophomore senator in the Student Government Association as well as chairing the Student Affairs Committee. An Eagle Scout and holder of a 2nd degree black belt in karate, he serves on the Putnam County Rescue Squad and is a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity at Tennessee Tech.
Ochsenbein graduated from Cookeville High School in 2007 with a 4.0 grade point average. He was senior class president, Interact president, and the 2006 Governor of Tennessee American Legion Boy’s State.
Ochsenbein is the son of LTC (Ret.) and Mrs. Mark Ochsenbein, Cookeville, Tennessee.
