Welcome to the Office of Human Resources

The Office of Human Resources is a unit under the Vice Chancellor for Business and Finance.  It provides management and oversight of employee services, benefits, and personnel policies and procedures.

The Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) staff directory contains everything you need to know to contact individuals including email addresses. The TBR Affirmative Action plan is a very useful document for all of the Human Resources Officers and Affirmative Action Officers/Title VI/Title IX Coordinators.

OFFICE OF HUMAN RESOURCES
MISSION STATEMENT

The Tennessee Board of Regents’ Office of Human Resources (OHR) is a unit of the TBR Business and Finance Division, and is led by the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Human Resources. The Assistant Vice Chancellor reports to the Vice Chancellor for Business and Finance and has overall responsibility for leading OHR.  The Director of Employee Benefits reports directly to the Assistant Vice Chancellor.   The Administrative Assistant and HR Assistant provide additional support for the OHR.

The system wide office provides the following major functional areas for the TBR System and the central office:

HR Services: Responsible for the majority of direct campus, department and employee contacts through an HR generalist program approach (benefits, employee relations, recruitment, classification, salary administration, and performance management).

HR Programs: Responsible for decentralized system wide processing, compliance to state and federal laws, policy development, work/family issues, HR related emergency preparedness/disaster recovery, diversity in employment, and other support programs.

HR Planning & Systems: Responsible for HR budget review of new position requests and organizational charts, HR communications, employee records, Banner HR functional customer support, data management and workforce reporting, project management, planning, change management, and special projects.

OHR Mission Statement:

The Office of Human Resources -- in support of the TBR overall strategic plan and its mission of teaching, research, and public service -- advocates for and provides superior, innovative, ethical, and responsive services and benefits to attract, motivate, and retain a talented, diverse, and committed workforce.  The role of the OHR is to reach out to managers, build bridges and gain employee trust.
