Nashville, Tennessee, October 14, 2002-The Tennessee Board of Regents has approved the nomination by Chancellor Charles Manning of Robert H. Adams as vice chancellor for business and finance at the Tennessee Board of Regents central office. Adams, who has been vice president for finance and administration at Austin Peay State University since July 2001, has served in an interim capacity at the central office since June 2002.

According to Manning, “After an extensive nationwide search, in the end, the search committee reached the conclusion that Bob Adams, who had not been a candidate for the vice chancellor position, was the best choice. We are delighted that we were able to persuade Bob to enter the search and accept this position. He has done an outstanding job in an interim capacity, has the full support of the TBR system and the central office staff, and brings with him almost 30 years of experience with higher education in the state of Tennessee. We are convinced that we have the right person for the job at a critical juncture for higher education in this state.”
