Media Consortium

The Media Consortium was chartered in 1979 and is comprised of 19 TBR institutions (community colleges and universities). It was chartered to enable the member institutions to acquire, on a cooperative basis, media products, including films, audio and videotapes, of a non-print nature. The executive director of the consortium negotiates with vendors for agreements for discounts, public performance rights, duplication rights, and copyright clearance for media products purchased by the members and coordinates telecourse licensing with vendors in order to obtain multi-institutional discounts. Since it's inception in 1979, the institutions have saved $2 million by taking advantage of negotiated discounts on the purchase of media products and telecourse licenses. The TBR Media Consortium is exploring the possibilities of state wide digital content licensing.

TBR faculty, staff and administrators should contact their institutional representatives for information about media purchases from the vendor list.

Library Deans and Directors

The Library Deans and Directors group exists to discuss professional matters of common concern and makes recommendations to the Tennessee Board of Regents regarding policies, procedures, and issues relating to academic libraries. Visit the committee website.
