Randy Schulte, EdD

As Interim Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs for the Tennessee Board of Regents system, Dr. Randy Schulte leads the academic initiatives supportive of the TBR System Office’s Completion Agenda. This agenda identifies, researches and implements priority strategies to achieve student success goals linked to the “Drive to 55” initiative. Among these initiatives are Academic Foci, Corequisite Remediation, High Impact Practices and Intrusive Advising. Dr. Schulte is responsible for quality assurance and improvement processes, which include the academic audit, program reviews, program accreditation, SACSCOC reaffirmation assistance and Quality Assurance Funding support.  He also coordinates the Tennessee Transfer Pathways, Reverse Transfer, Prior Learning Assessment and Reconnect programs.

Dr. Schulte joined the TBR staff in 2007 after serving 12 years at Chattanooga State Community College in several roles including Assistant Dean for Arts & Sciences, Dean for Business and Information Systems and Director of Hospitality Management. An advocate of the integration of technology and teaching, he was the recipient of the TBR Innovations Award for his work with hybrid learning models while at Chattanooga State. Dr. Schulte earned the Doctor of Education degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, the Master of Arts in Teaching from Colgate University and the Bachelors of Arts in Comparative Literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was nominated to Phi Beta Kappa membership.
