Dr. MaryLou Apple was appointed by Governor Bill Haslam to represent the 6th congressional district, completing the term recently vacated.  She has 37 years of service with the Tennessee Board of Regents system – first with Walters State Community College as an associate professor of nursing, dean, and eventually vice president for Academic Affairs, and later as president of Motlow State Community College (2006-2015).

Danni B. Varlan was appointed to the Tennessee Board of Regents on September 29, 2010, representing the second congressional district and was reappointed to serve a second term in 2013.

Emily Reynolds was appointed to the Tennessee Board of Regents on September 30, 2010, by Governor Phil Bredesen and was appointed to serve another term under Governor Bill Haslam's administration.

Reynolds was formerly the Senior Vice President of Government Relations for the Tennessee Valley Authority, serving there for just over six years. She has an extensive career in public service dating back to 1980.From 2003 to 2007, she served as the 31st secretary of the U.S. Senate, where she managed the legislative, financial, and administrative operations of the Senate.

Joey Hatch was appointed to the Tennessee Board of Regents by Governor Bill Haslam in 2017, representing the 7th congressional district. 

Before retirement, Hatch served as Skanska USA's Executive Vice President/General Manager in the Midwest United States, overseeing offices in Tennessee and Ohio.

Greg Duckett was appointed to the Tennessee Board of Regents on July 14, 2006, representing Tennessee's ninth congressional district and was reappointed to serve a second six year term (2012-2018).
