Finalists selected for next president of TCAT Morristown. Campus public interviews set for March 14.

The search advisory committee assisting with the search for the next president of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Morristown has selected two finalists for the position, both of whom will participate in public interviews on the Morristown campus March 14, the next step in the selection process.

The Tennessee Board of Regents’ committee chairs will meet Tuesday, March 8, 2022, to receive several updates and review the draft agenda of the full board’s next quarterly meeting March 31.

The board’s Audit Committee will also meet March 8, following the committee chairs meeting.

The Board of Regents governs Tennessee's public community colleges and colleges of applied technology.

Board of Regents appoints Nathan Garrett president of Tennessee College of Applied Technology Nashville, approves criteria for next president of TCAT Morristown

The Tennessee Board of Regents today appointed Nathan Garrett president of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Nashville, effective Jan. 5. He is currently TBR assistant vice chancellor for academic affairs and workforce alignment, and was interim president of TCAT McMinnville from July 2020 through September 2021.

Garrett succeeds the late Mark Lenz, TCAT Nashville’s president for 12 years who passed away Sept. 8.

Overall enrollment in the Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology increased 15 percent this fall term over fall 2020, to 18,213, while total enrollment in the state’s community colleges declined about 6 percent during the same period, according to the latest figures presented at the Tennessee Board of Regents quarterly meeting Thursday.
