TBR to Meet in Regular Quarterly Session Sept. 20-21 at Cleveland State Community College

The Tennessee Board of Regents will meet in regular quarterly session at Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, Tenn., on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 20 and 21.

Committee meetings will begin at 1 p.m. EDT Sept. 20 in the George R. Johnson Cultural Heritage Center. Committees will meet in this order: Tennessee Technology Centers, Academic Policies and Programs, Personnel and Compensation, and Finance and Business Operations. The full Board of Regents meeting will begin Friday, Sept. 21, at 9:30 a.m. in the Heritage Center’s Theater.

TSU Presidential Search Committee Outlines Process, Schedule

The presidential search advisory committee for Tennessee State University met today to outline the search process and agree on a schedule for future meetings.

The committee’s next meeting and any other meetings where individual applicants or candidates are identified will be closed to the public in order to comply with a new state law. The law provides that identities of candidates for chief executive officer of a Tennessee public higher education institution remain confidential unless the candidate is selected as a finalist for the position.

TSU Presidential Search Advisory Committee Meets Aug. 27

The search advisory committee for a new president of Tennessee State University will meet Aug. 27 following a public forum about the search process.The open forum is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 27, from 11 a.m. until noon in the Poag Auditorium of the Humanities Building on the TSU campus. Members of the Greenwood/Asher & Associates executive search firm contracted to lead the search will be on hand to discuss the search process and answer questions from campus and community members.The search advisory committee will conduct its first meeting from 1 – 3 p.m. in the same location.

Senate Education Subcommittee Hearing, Audit Show TSU Grade Assignments Were Valid(2)

The Senate Higher Education Subcommittee hearing today allowed Tennessee State University and Tennessee Board of Regents officials to demonstrate student grades were assigned accurately by faculty and not inappropriately changed by campus administrators.The hearing was called by Subcommittee Chairman Senator Jim Summerville after local and national media publicized one faculty member’s allegations of grade changes by administrators without faculty consent.
