With a Bachelor of Science degree in home economics education from Carson-Newman College, and a master’s degree in home economics from the University of Georgia, Judy Gooch is the owner of Judy Gooch Interiors, a free-lance interior design business, specializing in traditional residential interiors. Gooch currently serves as the I.D.S. representative on the state Board of Tennessee Interior Design Coalition. She also holds membership with the East Tennessee Chapter of the Interior Design Society and is a registered interior designer with the Tennessee State Board of Architectural and Engineering Examiners.
Prior to starting her own business, Gooch was a part-time and adjunct faculty at Carson-Newman College from 1981 – 1993. There she developed the interior design curriculum used in the Family and Consumer Sciences Department and participated in the accreditation process by the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. She is the proud recipient of the 1992-1993 Lane Bryant Award for Community Service presented by Carson-Newman College, and the 1991 Family and Consumer Sciences Department Distinguished Service Award from Carson-Newman College.
She is married to Warren L. Gooch, a Knoxville/Oak Ridge attorney. They have two sons, Ryan and Matthew.
