Finance and Business Operations Committee Meets

 The committee will discuss the Stark Loan Fund and continue discussions related to maintenance fee and tuition rate proposals. The full Tennessee Board of Regents will vote on any tuition and fee recommendations at its June 21 quarterly meeting at Walters State Community College in Morristown.

The meeting is open to the public and the press as listeners. Jonas KisberJonas Kisber has had a distinguished career in business and public service.  He is a native of Jackson, Tennessee, and a veteran of the Korean War.  Upon returning to Jackson after his military service, Kisber joined the family business, founded in 1905,  Kisber's Department Stores, Inc.  He became president of the company in 1974.  As one of Tennessee's leading independent retailers, he represented the company in national and state organizations, serving in many leadership capacities with the Tennessee Retail Merchants Association, including a term as president of the organization from 1976-1977. 

Jonas Kisber has been active in many civic, cultural and political activities in Jackson, including Jackson Area Council on Alcohol & Drug Abuse; Vice-Chairman of the Jackson-Madison County Library Foundation; a founding director of Weed & See; and a founding director of Episcopal Day School (subsequently became the University School of Jackson).  At various times, Kisber has served on the Board of Directors of the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce and of Congregation B'Nai Israel.  He is a member of the Board of Directors of Murray Guard, Inc.

Jonas Kisber and the late Jane G. Kisber have three children and three grandsons.
