Schools and Campuses

The TBR system consists of 45 separate institutions--six universities, 13 community colleges, and 26 technology centers. The 27th technology center, Chattanooga, is institutionally a part of Chattanooga State Technical Community College, so it is not a free-standing insitution. Each type of institution--university, community college, and technology center--has its own mission. The universities educate students seeking bachelor's and advanced degrees and work to create new knowledge through research. The community colleges prepare students for transfer to university as well as for direct entry into the workforce. And the technology centers are focused on workforce development. Counting our institutions' centers and other off-campus locations, TBR institutions offer classes in 90 of Tennessee's 95 counties. All of our campuses welcome inquiries and visitors.
