The presidential search advisory committee for a new president of Roane State Community College has been selected and will meet for the first time Monday, July 9.

The meeting will begin at 12:45 p.m. EDT in the Dunbar Building Faculty Dining Room on the college’s main campus in Harriman.

Roane State’s current president, Gary Goff, announced in March his plan to retire at the end of October after leading the college for seven years. The new president is expected to be named this fall.

Oldham will assume his leadership role July 1 after current president Bob Bell retires.

The Board met via telephone at 10:30 this morning to consider TBR Chancellor John Morgan’s recommendation for Oldham, who currently serves as provost and senior vice chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Philip Oldham is expected to be named the next president to lead Tennessee Technological University pending approval by the Tennessee Board of Regents on Friday.

The Board will meet via telephone at 10:30 a.m. CDT on Friday, May 4, to consider TBR Chancellor John Morgan’s recommendation for Oldham to replace Bob Bell, who will retire from TTU on July 1 after leading the campus for 12 years. Oldham currently serves as provost and senior vice chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

The Tennessee Board of Regents will meet in regular quarterly session Thursday, March 29, at the TBR Office in Nashville. The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. in the Genesco Training Center.

The Board will hear reports from committees, Chancellor John Morgan, and representatives of the college and university presidents as well as the Tennessee Technology Center directors. New business will include a consent agenda addressing TTC program changes, a variety of policy revisions and an out-of-state tuition waiver.

The Tennessee Board of Regents today approved Jerry Faulkner as the next president for Volunteer State Community College.

Faulkner will assume his leadership role at the college beginning May 15.

Jerry Faulkner is expected to be named the next president to lead Volunteer State Community College pending approval by the Tennessee Board of Regents on March 21.

The Board will meet via telephone at 10:30 a.m. CT on Wednesday, March 21, to consider TBR Chancellor John Morgan’s recommendation of Faulkner, who will replace Bruce Scism, Vol State’s interim president.

If approved, Faulkner will arrange a smooth transition from Cleveland State Community College, where he currently serves as vice president for Academic Affairs. A specific date has not yet been set.
