For a limited time, many of Tennessee’s community and technical colleges are offering free or discounted online courses to help Tennesseans learn new skills, refresh old skills and increase their employability.
Courses vary by college, but anyone may enroll regardless of their location.
FREE ED2GO COURSES
The following courses from ED2GO are available free through our colleges, provided one enrolls June 30 and completes 24 hours of self-paced training within 90 days of registration. Participants are welcome to take as many free courses as they like. These courses do not require applying to the college. Simply register online to begin.

At Columbia State, you may choose between four predesigned training bundles and two create-your-own bundle options for only $49. The programming is tailored toward residents who recently became unemployed. The courses discuss entrepreneurship, redesigning your career, how to build your brand online through Google AdWords, and more.

Motlow State
MotlowTrained
Motlow State has created the MotlowTrained Relief Fund to allow residents within the college’s 11-county service area who has experienced any loss of income as a result of COVID-19 to enroll in training through the MotlowTrained program at no cost. The training can allow those who are now facing financial hardship to upskill for advancement into higher-paying positions, re-enter the workforce, or make a career change.
Relief funding for local entrepreneurs will fund training in e-Commerce and digital marketing through our MotlowTrained Small Business Accelerator Academy to help small businesses quickly re-open and recover from the current economic crisis. GoogleIT Specialist Certificate
Through a grant opportunity with Jobs For the Future and Google, Motlow is offering the GoogleIT Specialist Certificate program at no cost to 20 select applicants. The course is fully online and Motlow State faculty will provide additional learning supports to enhance student learning and success along with the opportunity to earn prior learning credit upon successful completion. Volunteer State
Volunteer State is home to Tennessee's only lead OSHA Training Institute Education Center training. The OTIEC at Vol State recently received approval from OSHA to deliver OSHA trainings via live video formats. Prior to COVID-19, OSHA did not permit the delivery of OSHA trainings via live/online video formats, thus the opportunity to obtain OSHA credentials has expanded for the participants convenience. Please note, these are instructor led courses so they will occur live.
In partnership with the Nashville Area Chamber, Volunteer State is offering a discount to any individual or employer that is a member of the Nashville Area Chamber to complete OSHA courses online.
