Board of Regents Audit Committee & Committee Chairs to meet Aug. 27

The Tennessee Board of Regents Audit Committee and the chairs of the board’s standing committees will meet Tuesday, Aug. 27, primarily to review a number of items in advance of the board’s next quarterly meeting in September.

The Audit Committee will meet at 10:30 a.m. and the committee chairs will convene at 12:45 p.m. Both meetings will be held in the board room at the TBR system office, 1 Bridgestone Park, Nashville, TN, 37214.

The Audit Committee’s agenda includes informational review of recent audit reports, audit plans for Fiscal Year 2020, and of the committee's charter, responsibilities and standards. At the conclusion of the public portion of the meeting, the Audit Committee will convene a non-public executive session to review audit issues that are confidential under Tennessee law until final reports are issued.

The meeting of the committee chairs is held primarily to preview and plan agenda items for the board’s next quarterly meeting, Sept. 19-20, including the TBR System’s next budget proposal request to the Tennessee Higher Education Commission, proposed TBR policy revisions, and priorities for the 2020 state legislative session.

The meetings are open to the public, except for the Audit Committee’s executive session. Contact Board Secretary Sonja Mason at sonja.mason@tbr.edu or 615-366-3927 by 4:30 p.m. Aug. 26 to facilitate security access or to request accommodations. The Audit Committee materials are posted on the TBR website at https://www.tbr.edu/board/september-quarterly-board-meeting-0.
