The Tennessee Board of Regents committee chairs will meet Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026, to receive informational updates and reports in advance of the full board’s next quarterly meeting in September. The board’s Audit Committee will convene a business meeting after the committee chairs session concludes.

The committee chairs meeting will convene at 8:30 a.m. CT/9:30 ET. Both meetings will be held by teleconferencing and will be live streamed on the TBR website at https://www.tbr.edu/board/august-2026-committee-chairs-and-audit-committee-meetings, except for a portion of the Audit Committee required by state law to be confidential. Agendas and materials for the meetings will be posted at the meeting link above.

The committee chairs meeting is informational, with no votes or official action. The agenda includes updates from activities of the Office of External Affairs and on capital projects proposed for the Fiscal Year 2027-28 budget process, and previews of a faculty promotion recommendation and faculty increase corrections involving two community colleges, and two proposed TBR rule revisions, all to be considered at the September board meeting. The chairs will also receive a refresher update on the board's governance procedures and a preview of the draft agenda for the September quarterly board meeting.

The Audit Committee agenda includes informational reports and action items detailed in the meeting link above, including reports on highlights of audit findings and recommendations, audit reports and reviews, systemwide internal audit updates, and review of Fiscal Year 2025-26 year-end status reports. Action items include review of Fiscal Year 2026-27 internal audit plans and internal audit charters.

The next quarterly meetings of the Board of Regents and its committees are scheduled for September 17-18 at Tennessee College of Applied Technology Shelbyville. Agendas and materials for that meeting will be posted at https://www.tbr.edu/board/september-2026-quarterly-board-meeting when complete.
