Board of Regents Committee Chairs, Personnel and Compensation Committee, and Audit Committee to meet May 28

Tennessee Board of Regents to meet Oct. 31 to consider criteria for next president of TCAT Memphis

The Tennessee Board of Regents committee chairs will meet Wednesday, May 28, 2025 to preview proposed revisions to TBR policies, receive informational updates, and preview the agenda for the full board’s next quarterly meeting in June. The board’s Personnel and Compensation Committee and Audit Committee will also meet following the committee chairs.

Chairs of the board’s standing committees will convene at 8 a.m. CT/9 a.m. ET, followed consecutively by the Personnel and Compensation Committee and the Audit Committee. The meetings will be held by teleconferencing and will be live-streamed on the TBR website at https://www.tbr.edu/board/may-2025-committee-chairs-personnel-compensation-and-audit-committee-meetings, except for a portion of the Audit Committee required by state law to be confidential. The committee chairs meeting is informational, with no votes or official action. The agenda includes but is not limited to review of one proposed new TBR policy and proposed revisions to four existing policies that the full Board will consider at its June quarterly meeting (see below), and reports or updates on legislation affecting the system, workforce development activities, and 2024 financial performance. 

The proposed new policy addresses Use of Artificial Intelligence. Proposed revisions involve the following TBR policies: Policy 2.03.00.04, Technical College Learning Support; Policy 3.01.00.00, Student Organizations; Policy 1.02.12.00, Requests to Address the Board, and Policy 1.07.00.00, General Policy on Alcoholic Beverages. The Personnel and Compensation Committee agenda includes review and consideration of approval of systemwide compensation strategies, president emeriti contracts, and faculty emeriti designations.

The Audit Committee agenda has both informational reports and action items detailed in the meeting link above, including Fiscal Year 2025 third quarter audit highlights, systemwide internal audit updates, university updates, FY 2025 revised internal audit plans, review of internal audit charters, and review of the systemwide internal audit budget for FY 2026.

The next quarterly meeting of the Board of Regents is scheduled for June 12-13, 2025, at Northeast State Community College. Agendas and materials for that meeting will be posted later at https://www.tbr.edu/board/june-2025-quarterly-board-meeting.
