Interviews Scheduled for PSCC Presidential Candidates

On-campus interviews have been scheduled for the three finalists for the presidency of Pellissippi State Community College – James L. Barrott, David H. Devier and L. Anthony Wise. Each candidate will take part in campus-wide question-and-answer meetings with faculty, students, staff and administrators.

All three finalists will also interview with the Tennessee Board of Regents PSCC Presidential Search Advisory Committee at separate times on Tuesday, April 12. Each of those search committee meetings is open to the public and press as observers. The committee will convene at 9:30 a.m. ET in the Clayton Performing Arts Center (CPAC) to preview the day’s schedule.

Only the search advisory committee meetings are open to the press and the public.

The 17-member committee, chaired by Regent Bob Thomas, selected the three candidates during its March 30 meeting on the PSCC campus. TBR Chancellor John Morgan expects to take the name of his nominee for the position to the TBR Board for approval by the end of April.

The Tennessee Board of Regents is the nation’s sixth largest higher education system, governing 46 post-secondary educational institutions. The TBR system includes six universities, 13 two-year colleges and 27 technology centers, providing programs in 90 of Tennessee’s 95 counties to more than 200,000 students.

The College System of Tennessee is the state’s largest public higher education system, with 13 community colleges, 24 colleges of applied technology and the online TN eCampus serving approximately 140,000 students. The system is governed by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
