TBR to launch new Tile Manufacturing Operator program

TBR - The College System of Tennessee continues to identify and develop scalable solutions to address workforce development gaps across Tennessee. Recently, the College System announced the launch of a new Tile Manufacturing Operator program at three of its technical colleges in the fall of 2026: Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Dickson, TCAT Hohenwald and TCAT Upper Cumberland.
This new program prepares students to become successful operators in the tile manufacturing and production industry by familiarizing them with tile production and manufacturing practices. Students will learn how to operate machines they’ll use in their day-to-day tasks, precision measurement skills and the certifications needed to secure a good-paying career in the industry.
Ceramic tile is one of four major workforce development priorities for the College System in 2026, and Tennessee is a national and global leader in its production. With eight ceramic tile manufacturers located in our state and a 25 percent increase in industry job growth over the last eight years, now is the time for students to get the training needed for a long-term career in this growing, innovative industry.
