TBR plans Feb. 18 meeting to discuss FOCUS Act, campus safety

The Tennessee Board of Regents will hold a special called telephonic meeting on Thursday, Feb. 18, at 9 a.m. CST for an overview and update on Governor Haslam’s Focus on College and University Success (FOCUS) Act.

The Board will hear a presentation from Mike Krause, Drive to 55 executive director on the FOCUS Act. Acting Chancellor David Gregory will also discuss a proposed TBR Campus Safety and Security Task Force.

The meeting is open to the public and the press as listeners. Those wishing dial-in information for the call should contact Sonja Mason at sonja.mason@tbr.edu or 615-366-3927 before 4:30 p.m. Feb. 17.

The College System of Tennessee is the state’s largest public higher education system, with 13 community colleges, 24 colleges of applied technology and the online TN eCampus serving approximately 140,000 students. The system is governed by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
