Walters State, Volunteer State athletics honored by TBR

TBR - the College System of Tennessee recently honored the Walters State Community College (WSCC) Men's and Women's basketball and baseball teams, as well as the Volunteer State Community College (VSCC) softball team, for their athletic achievements.
The WSCC Men's and Women's basketball teams represented the college at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Tournaments. The Senators finished with a school-record tying 32 wins and made the program’s first Elite Eight appearance since the tournament expanded to 24 teams. The team also produced two All-Americans in the same season for the first time in program history.
The Lady Senators won 28 games, captured the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) Regular Season and Tournament Championships, and the squad reached the NJCAA Women's Division I Basketball Elite Eight.
WSCC baseball's historic 53-13 season included seven new program records. The team's sophomore class went 112-21-1 over two seasons, won two TCCAA Regular Season and Tournament Championships, two Appalachian District Championships, finished sixth at the World Series this year, following a Runner-up finish at the 2025 World Series.
VSCC softball won its first TCCAA Regular Season Championship in program history. Their 27-3 conference record was the best conference record in school history. The program also made its second trip ever to the NJCAA Division I Softball World Series. The Lady Pioneers concluded their season with a 51-16 overall record.
The College System is proud of these teams and athletes for their athletic and academic achievements.
