College System honors Gov. Bill Lee for service to Tennessee

Recently, TBR's regents visited with Gov. Bill Lee to recognize and thank the governor for his incredible impact on the College System, as well as his unwavering commitment to workforce development. Our 50th governor's generational investment of more than $1.5 billion during his time in office has not only transformed our colleges, but it has also improved countless lives, inspiring students across Tennessee to achieve their dreams.
Under the governor's leadership, Tennessee has also expanded educational and workforce opportunities for individuals preparing to reenter society through the Correctional Education Initiative, bringing postsecondary education and high-demand technical training into 14 state correctional facilities and enabling incarcerated students to earn hundreds of college degrees and industry-recognized credentials that strengthen workforce readiness and support successful reentry into their communities
Thank you, Gov. Lee! Your remarkable leadership is an example of what it means to build a versatile and robust workforce that meets the demands of industries today, tomorrow and in the years ahead. We are honored to be a small part of your profound legacy.
The College System of Tennessee is the state’s largest public higher education system, with 13 community colleges, 22 colleges of applied technology, and the online TN eCampus serving approximately 170,000 students. The system is governed by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
