Accessibility and Reasonable Accommodations
Additionally, reasonable accommodations for employees will be made to the extent possible. You are considered to have a disability if you have a physical or mental impairment or medical condition that substantially limits a major life activity, or if you have a history or record of such an impairment or medical condition. Disabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Cerebral palsy
- Muscular dystrophy
- Bipolar disorder
- Major depression
- Multiple sclerosis (MS)
- Missing limbs or partially missing limbs
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Obsessive compulsive disorder
- Impairments requiring use of a mobility device
If an employee, or applicant for employment, with a qualifying disability desires reasonable accommodations, they should contact the System Office Equity Officer to begin the interactive process.
Pursuant to the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended, the TBR must provide accommodations for individuals with disabilities in order to ensure equal opportunity to benefit from, or participate in, any TBR sponsored programs and/or activities, including events involving outside parties. If your department is planning an event, (i.e. meetings, workshops, conferences, etc.) if requested, the agency must provide a reasonable accommodation. If a participant contacts the TBR to request an accommodation to participate in a program or activity, please contact the System Office Equity Officer at 615-366-3929 or email@example.com to process the request.
