Government Relations

The Vice Chancellor for Administration and Facilities Development and the Director of External Affairs serve as the legislative liaisons to the Tennessee General Assembly for the Tennessee Board of Regents System.  In addition, the Vice Chancellor and Director of External Affairs represent the system to the executive branch of state government.  Further responsibilities of this office include the promotion of public higher education and the TBR legislative agenda, while closely monitoring legislation that could impact Tennessee higher education, the TBR System and/or its member institutions, students and employees. Institutional Advancement

Private gift collections for the Tennessee Board of Regents System are collected and reported to the Board on an annual basis. Office responsibilities include serving as the central office's liaison for the advancement officers at our member institutions.  Also managed in this office is the selection process for the system's two philanthropy awards -- the Regents Award for Excellence in Philanthropy and the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Philanthropy. Facilities Development

Facilities Development staff manage the planning, design, and construction processes for Tennessee Board of Regents' institutions.  On this office's website you will find the Facilities Development Manual, the Facilities Designer's Manual, information on general items such as risk management and request for proposal's, and information on project construction including master project schedules, bid lists, construction forms, and closeout checklists.
