Ms. Leigh Shockey was appointed to the Tennessee Board of Regents by Governor Bill Haslam, representing the at-large seat for West Tennessee.

In 1998, Shockey became the Chairman & CEO of Drexel Chemical Company.  She was Manager of International Operations from 1989 until 1998 and was in international sales prior to 1998.

Dr. Barbara Prescott was appointed to the Tennessee Board of Regents by Governor Bill Haslam, representing the eighth congressional district.

Prescott is presently the Executive Director of PeopleFirst Partnership, the education and talent arm of Memphis Fast Forward.  As Executive Director, she leads the organization in identifying and advocating for “breakthrough” initiatives to improve educational outcomes in Memphis and Shelby County.

Dr. MaryLou Apple was appointed by Governor Bill Haslam to represent the 6th congressional district, completing the term recently vacated.  She has 37 years of service with the Tennessee Board of Regents system – first with Walters State Community College as an associate professor of nursing, dean, and eventually vice president for Academic Affairs, and later as president of Motlow State Community College (2006-2015).

Mike Krause serves as the Executive Director of the Tennessee Higher Education Commission and Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation.

Jai Templeton was appointed by Governor Bill Haslam and sworn in as Tennessee's 37th Commissioner of Agriculture in May 2016. Prior to joining the department as Deputy Commissioner in June 2011, he served as mayor of McNairy County, leading that county's successful efforts to reduce debt and increase fund balances without raising taxes during the economic recession. He is a sixth generation farmer producing grain, cotton, hay, timber and cattle in McNairy and Hardin Counties.

Tom Griscom was appointed to the Tennessee Board of Regents on September 30, 2010, by Governor Phil Bredesen representing the third congressional district.

Griscom currently is a media and communications consultant.  He resigned from the Chattanooga Times Free Press in June 2010 after eleven years as Publisher and Executive Editor.

Joey Hatch was appointed to the Tennessee Board of Regents by Governor Bill Haslam in 2017, representing the 7th congressional district. 

Hatch serves as Executive Vice President/General Manager for Skanska USA in the Midwest United States, overseeing offices in Tennessee and Ohio.
