Makena Davis

Makena L. Davis was appointed by Governor Bill Lee to serve as the Student Regent on the Tennessee Board of Regents, representing the interests of students across all TBR institutions. As of July 7, 2025, she is a cosmetology student at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Upper Cumberland and is on track to graduate in September 2025.
Makena is passionate about her field and aspires to open her own cosmetology business in Crossville, Tennessee. She also has a strong interest in continuing to serve her profession through future involvement with the Tennessee Board of Cosmetology.
A 2024 graduate of Van Buren High School, Makena was actively involved in a wide range of clubs and organizations including FFA, HOSA, 4-H, and Girl Scouts. She also participated in multiple sports and was honored to attend the 4-H Congress and the Flowers on the Hill celebration in Nashville, showcasing her early commitment to leadership and civic engagement.
Makena brings to the Board a strong work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit, and a deep commitment to student representation and vocational education. Her broad background in extracurricular activities, leadership roles, and community service reflect her dedication to making a meaningful impact both locally and statewide.
