Christi Branscom

Christi Branscom was appointed by Governor Bill Lee to serve as the 2nd Congressional District Representative.

Branscom is Principal, General Counsel and Managing Broker for Partners Development. She returned to Partners after having completed almost six years serving in Governor Lee’s cabinet as Commissioner of the Department of General Services (DGS) for the State of Tennessee, responsible for most of the operations of state government. In that capacity, she oversaw the most significant capital budget in state history including several high-profile capital improvement projects such as the historic John Sevier Building, the new Library and Archives, and the State’s largest capital project ever budgeted at $415M, the Multi-Agency Law Enforcement Training Academy.

She had previously served as Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Mayor for the City of Knoxville for almost six years under Mayor Madeline Rogero, making her the first woman ever named to that position.

In 2024, Branscom was honored with the Top Leader Award for Mid-Sized Organizations in Middle Tennessee by the Tennessean’s Top Workplaces Awards after having led the Department of General Services as a Top Workplace Winner for five consecutive years. In 2023, she was awarded the prestigious Ray Walton Leadership Award from the National Association of State Chief Administrators and named a Woman of Influence Winner by the Nashville Business Journal.

She is a Fellow of the Knoxville Bar, and a recipient of the 2014 University of Tennessee Accomplished Alumni Award. She serves on several boards, including the University of Tennessee Haslam College of Business Dean’s Council, the Leadership Tennessee board of directors, the Leadership Knoxville board of directors, the board of the non-partisan research center Sycamore Institute, the Legacy Parks Foundation Board, and was recently appointed a member of the Tennessee Board of Regents.

Branscom earned a Bachelor of Science in finance cum laude from the University of Tennessee and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Memphis. She is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Knoxville and a 2017 graduate of Leadership Tennessee.
