William Summons

Bill has been an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Southwest Tennessee Community College since 1983.  Prior to that he was at Shelby State Community College serving as an Assistant Professor and an instructor of Mathematics from 1977 – 1983.  Additionally, he has served as an adjunct professor at Christian Brothers University from 1979 to 2009. 

He holds an associates’ degree from Northwestern Michigan College in Parks and Recreation Management, a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Michigan State University in mathematics and mathematics education, and has 30 additional graduate hours from the University of Memphis. 

Bill has served on several leadership committees and currently serves as the Faculty Senate President at Southwest.  He was a representative on the advisory committee to hire a new chancellor for TBR, in addition to serving on the advisory committee when President Tracy Hall was hired as the new president of Southwest.
