Joint Summer Subcouncil and Retreat Registration

The Summer Student Affairs and Academic Affairs Subcouncil Retreat and FirstGen Forward Workshop will be offered IN-PERSON ONLY on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the Nelson Andrews Leadership Center in Nashville, TN. Community Colleges may register up to 5 attendees for the workshop and TCATs may register up to 2 attendees. Institutions are responsible for their own travel and overnight accommodations, if needed. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided by TBR.

With over half of all college students identifying as first-generation, dismantling barriers and creating accessible environments for success is imperative. Supporting these students requires a collective commitment across the higher education community. FirstGen Forward provides institutions with evidence-based resources, programs, and services to advance this mission. This session will explore national and statewide trends shaping first-generation student success and highlight effective strategies institutions are using to foster equity, belonging, and achievement for this growing student population.

TCAT Breakout on SEM

This breakout session will focus on Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) as it relates to the work of Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology (TCATs). The session will serve as both an update and a planning forum, providing an opportunity for institutional representatives to share recent developments and progress on SEM initiatives within their respective TCATs.

In addition to updates, the session will create space for TCAT leaders and representatives to share their perspectives on how the Office of Strategic Enrollment Management can best support SEM planning across the system
