Leigh A. Shockey
Ms. Leigh Shockey was appointed to the Tennessee Board of Regents by Governor Bill Haslam, representing the at-large seat for West Tennessee.
In 1998, Shockey became the Chairman & CEO of Drexel Chemical Company. She was Manager of International Operations from 1989 until 1998 and was in international sales prior to 1998.
Shockey serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce, where she served as Chairman during 2014 & 2015. She also serves as Chairman of the West Tennessee District Export Council. Additionally, she serves on the University of Memphis Board of Visitors, the University of Memphis - Fogleman College of Business & Economics Advisory Board, and on the boards of CropLife America, the AutoZone Liberty Bowl, the Memphis in May International Festival, and a number of other Memphis area cultural programs.
In April 2014, she was appointed Honorary Consul of Canada in Memphis by the Consul General of Canada for the Southeastern United States. Through her work with the Greater Memphis Chamber, and as Chairman & CEO of Drexel Chemical Company, a successful manufacturer and international distributor of agricultural chemical products, she has worked diligently to promote international trade in Tennessee.
She holds a bachelor’s of science degree in Business (International) from the University of Tennessee – Martin, and resides in Rossville, Tennessee.
