Stephen Vieira

Steve Vieira began as the Interim Chief Information Officer for the Tennessee Board of Regents in March of 2001.  Recently appointed as the full-time Chief Information Officer, Steve is responsible for the strategic direction and technical leadership for the six universities, thirteen community colleges and twenty-seven colleges of applied technology of the TBR system. 

His work experience includes large universities (Boston College and Virginia Tech), to smaller universities (Clark University) to community colleges implementing and supporting ERP systems, network upgrades, IT governance structures, tactical planning and information sharing.

Steve has written articles and presented nationally throughout his career and as a resource at the various institutions for which he has supported.  He has been a member of the Ellucian Customer Source Initiative Board, the EDUCAUSE Higher Education Information Security Council, the Board of the Ocean State Higher Education and Administrative Network and as President of the Massachusetts Education Computing Council.
